Dunton Green occurs as little Kent village lying in the valley of the River Darent, three miles northward of Sevenoaks.
From either at least the 17th century, Dunton Green was a centre for making bricks and tiles. Around 1862 a Dunton Green Brick, Tile & Pottery Works was established: the big concern by owning clayholes or even pits, kilns & an engine home. When digging for clay several fossils were discovered. A village church (dedicated to St John) is built by owning local bricks.
It has the railway station, which at one time was the junction for the little spur track to Westerham, opened in 1881. That line closed, & a trackbed today lies below a M25 motorway.
